A dashcam with parking mode is basically a kind of in-car surveillance camera that secures the car while parking. In parking mode, the dashcam goes into a special recording mode where it uses very little power and data and records only the most important events. There are dashcams with a manual or automatically activated parking mode and different video recording modes.
Most cars do not supply power via the cigarette lighter while parking. Using the in-car security camera therefore requires a permanent power supply to power the dashcam during parking. Permanent power supplies can be ordered as an accessory with any dashcam or, in some cases - where mentioned - are included as standard.
