The SJCAM SJ4000 Air is a beautiful entry-level action cam dashcam in one. This compact camera has everything you need to capture all your events and rides. The 2.0-inch LCD screen controls the camera and the 4K lens records everything in good quality. A wide viewing angle of 170˚ ensures plenty of all-round visibility and the built-in Wifi allows you to control the camera via your phone and view and download images.
Perhaps the biggest advantage of an SJCAM as a dashcam is that it has a rechargeable and removable battery. So - unlike other dashcams - you don't need to connect the camera to power in the car to film with it.
You simply charge the 900mAh battery via the mains using the USB cable provided. Fully charged, you can record around 100 minutes with it. For more recording capacity, an extra battery and Dual charger are optionally available (see accessories).
The SJCAM SJ4000 Air records videos in sharp 4K resolution at 30fps. The high-quality footage means that many details such as people and number plates are clearly visible. The resolution can also be set lower to save space on the SD card. Lower resolutions also allow recording at more fps (frames per second) for smoother shots.

The SJCAM SJ4000 Air has various recording options, including Car mode. In this mode, you use the SJ4000 Air as a dashcam where it automatically switches on and off when you connect it with the optional car charger (see accessories). Loop recording needs to be turned on to automatically overwrite the oldest videos for new ones when the SD card is full. If you prefer to use SJCAM without connecting it in the car, you will have to start and stop recording manually.
The SJCAM Sj4000 Air comes very complete with several self-adhesive holders. This makes it easy to attach the camera to the windscreen or dashboard in the car. An optional suction cup holder is available for the windscreen to take the SJ4000 Air out of the car complete with holder.
The SJCAM Sj4000 Air is equipped with Wifi so you can easily control it with your smartphone. Via the SJCAM App for iPhone and Android allows you to change settings and view and download videos. To connect to the SJCAM, you need to be within range of the camera and Wifi must be activated with the Wifi button. Using the Wifi settings on your phone, you can then connect to the SJCAM's Wifi network.
On the bright 2.0-inch LCD screen, you can easily operate the SJ4000 Air and view recordings.
The SJCAM SJ4000 Air supports Micro SD cards of up to 64gb (not included). This is good for around 4 to 6 hours of 4K videos. With Loop recording enabled, the oldest images are automatically overwritten for new ones when the SD card is full. This keeps the camera recording continuously and the last 4-6 hours of videos are always saved (with 64gb card).
The SJCAM SJ4000 Air has a large viewing angle of 170˚, allowing a large area around the camera to be recorded. For Car mode in particular, this is useful so you can capture every situation you see as a driver.
The SJ4000 Air lets you choose from multiple video effects to capture events in different ways. To capture longer events such as a car ride, sunset or construction process, you can use Time lapse where a picture is taken every second and later played back as accelerated video. For fast events, on the other hand, use Slow motion mode to make details more visible.
With the included waterproof casing, it is possible to use the SJ4000 Air up to 30 metres deep. So feel free to take the camera with you while diving or snorkelling.
