The Viofo A229 3CH Pro 4K Wifi GPS is the latest model in the popular and reliable A229 series with as many as three cameras. The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K can keep an eye on the road at the front and rear and use the interior camera to film the driver and occupants. With the built-in 5.0MP Sony Starvis 2 image sensor, the A229 delivers razor-sharp images from the front, back and inside the car.
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with three cameras, allowing for front, rear and in-car recording. The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K (2K) films with 4K (2K) resolution at the front and with QuadHD (2K) at the rear and interior side. These cameras are connected to the front camera with a long supplied 6-metre cable. Images from the rear camera are stored separately on the SD card. The 2.4-inch HD LCD screen displays the rear camera on one-fourth of the screen via PiP (Picture in Picture).
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with dual-band Wifi (5 Ghz) making file transfer very fast and the network very reliable. Via the Viofo App, images can be directly viewed and downloaded via the Wifi on any iOS and Android phone and tablet.
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS films with 4K + QuadHD (2K) image quality. The super-fast Novatek 96660 chip combined with the two SONY sensors ensures that all details are clearly visible, even in the dark.
The Viofo A229 Plus 4K Wifi is equipped with an automatic parking mode with motion detection or Time Lapse. With motion detection, the camera is on standby and starts recording for 30 seconds when a movement is detected. In Time Lapse, the camera continuously records a 1fps video that can later be played back (sped up) as 30fps video. This way, evidence is always available if the car has been damaged while parked.
Note: The automatic parking mode only works if the dashcam is used with the Viofo HK4 hardwire kit (see accessories). Connected with it, the camera will automatically switch to parking mode when the car ignition is turned off and switch to normal recording when the car is started.
The included CPL filter ensures optimal protection and image quality under sunny conditions. The CPL filter acts for the dashcam like Polaroid sunglasses for the eyes. Harmful UV rays are filtered out and annoying reflections are eliminated. This improves the image quality and durability of the camera.
With the handy optional Viofo A229 Plus 4K Wifi Bluetooth SOS button, a manual SOS recording can be started on the Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS at the touch of a button. The SOS button can be easily connected to the Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS by turning on the dashcam and pressing and holding the button for 3 seconds. The blue indicator LED on the button will glow blue if the connection is successfully established. The SOS button can be mounted anywhere within the vehicle using the sticker provided.
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS comes standard with a GPS module. The GPS allows the current speed to be displayed in the image. This can be decisive as evidence in an incident. Moreover, the GPS memorises the location of the places where the dashcam was filmed. Via the software on the PC, the route travelled can therefore be viewed.
This Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS dashcam has a 2.4-inch HD LCD screen. The screen displays live images and allows easy menu control. If desired, the built-in screensaver automatically turns off the LCD screen after a set number of minutes so it does not interfere with the driver.
With its 140˚ + 160˚ + 160˚ wideview ‘fish eye’ lens, the Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS has a long range and records almost everything in the environment.
The 1.6 aperture at the front and 1.8 aperture at the rear, combined with a 7G lens, captures a lot of light, making the quality of the images very good both during the day and in the dark.
Thanks to HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology, the camera is able to generate sharp images at both very high and very low light intensities. As a result, the camera captures razor-sharp images in bright daytime and low light at night.
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) hardware. This allows the dashcam to adjust the light intensity automatically depending on the environment. The WDR thus guarantees the best image quality under varying conditions.
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS dashcam starts filming automatically when the car is started. So you no longer need to look at it when it's hanging in the car. The prerequisite for this is that it is connected to the power supply in the car.
With its built-in G-sensor, the Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS dashcam notices when you've been in an accident. Upon impact, images are automatically stored securely so they are not lost. They can no longer be overwritten or deleted via the dashcam.
The AV output allows the dashcam image to be displayed on an external monitor, such as a built-in car navigation system. An AV cable is required to transfer the images.
The Viofo A229 Pro 3CH 4K Wifi GPS is equipped with a super capacitor battery. This battery ensures that the camera can shut itself down properly after the power goes out.
