The AZDome M17 Pro Wifi is a 1296p dashcam with Wifi and a reliable Super capacitor battery. With WDR Night vision, the image quality of this AZDome M17 Pro Wifi is very good both during the day and at night. The Wifi also makes it easy to view the images.
The AZDome M17 Pro Wifi films with sharp FullHD+ (1296p) resolution in 30fps by using the 2.0MP CMOS sensor. Many details such as license plates and people are thus recognisably captured in the image. The camera can also be set to 720p 60fps or 30fps. The M17 Pro Wifi's images are of above-average quality even in the dark.
With this AZDome M17 Pro Wifi, it is possible to make Time Lapse recordings in addition to normal videos. In Time Lapse, the camera takes a picture every second, which are then played back as a standard 30fps video. The video is played back at an accelerated rate, making this function ideal for recording longer routes, for example on holiday.
The AZDome M17 Pro Wifi is equipped with an Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS). This system consists of three separate options;
- FCWS: Forward Collision Warning System that warns when approaching a vehicle in front at high speed.
- LDWS: Lane Departure Warning System that warns when a lane change occurs unnoticed.
The warnings are done in the form of an audible signal. Both systems can be switched on and off separately. Note that the use of ADAS on European roads does not always show accurate and reliable results due to the large differences in infrastructure.
This AZDome M17 Pro does not have a built-in battery but a much more reliable Super capacitor battery. A Super capacitor is more resistant to temperature changes and is also a lot more durable, making its lifespan a lot longer. Please note that a dashcam with Super capacitor cannot be used without power and the dashcam will switch off immediately when the power is interrupted.
This AZDome M17 Pro Wifi is equipped with wifi. This allows all images to be easily viewed via smartphone. The Wifi has a range of around 10 metres. The AZDome App is available for iOS (Apple) and Android phones and tablets. Via the app, images can be viewed and downloaded, eliminating the need to remove the SD card from the camera.
The AZDome M17 Pro Wifi supports MicroSD cards up to 128gb, allowing for about 32 hours of filming in FullHD.
The AZDome M17 Pro is mounted on the windscreen using a sturdy holder with double-sided sticker. The dashcam can be easily clicked in and out of the holder so you can easily remove it from the car.
The bright 2.45-inch OLED LCD screen makes setting the functions dead easy. Of course, the screen also shows exactly what is being filmed, allowing you to set up the dashcam. Thanks to IPS technology, the screen is clearly visible from different angles. IPS (In Plane Switching is a special variant of the LCD screen where the visibility of the screen is optimal from all angles.
This M17 Pro Wifi has a 150-degree wide-angle lens. This allows a very large area to be observed, not only in front of the car but also in the surrounding area.
The AZDome M17 Pro Wifi dashcam automatically starts filming when the car is started and stops filming when the car is turned off. So you no longer have to look at it when it is hanging in the car.
With its built-in G-sensor, the dashcam notices when you've had an accident. Upon impact, images are automatically stored securely so they are not lost. They can neither be overwritten nor deleted via the dashcam.
The AZDome M17 Pro has a convenient automatic Time Lapse parking mode function to secure the car when parked. In this Time Lapse mode, the camera takes a picture every second and later plays it back as a video. This has a distinctive character that makes it appear to be flushed. With Time Lapse mode, the videos do not take up too much space and can therefore be recorded for a very long time without filling up the SD card. Combined with the Continuous power supply, the parking mode automatically switches on when the car ignition is turned off and normal recording starts again when the car is started.
Note: The AZDome HM03R or OBD hardwire kit is required to use parking mode, parking mode cannot be manually activated.
Besides the ability to film, the M17 Pro Wifi also has the option to take photos in 12 megapixels. Useful for capturing the damage after an accident, for example.
The AZDome M17 Pro Wifi has a built-in microphone so that sound is also recorded. The microphone can also be switched off if required.
The current time and date are always displayed on screen so that it can later be shown at what time the relevant recordings were made.
