The popular LUKAS V790 has had an update and now comes with FullHD rear camera and 64gb Micro SD card. The model has otherwise remained identical and again comes very complete with Continuous power supply. In addition, the Lukas V790 2CH GPS has built-in Wifi, GPS and a G-sensor.
Note: Only a hardwire kit is supplied with this dashcam as standard. A cigarette power supply is optionally available (see accessories).
The Lukas V790 2CH GPS is equipped with Wifi. This Wifi allows ‘logging in’ to the V790 2CH GPS dashcam via smartphone or tablet. The specially designed Lukas app for iOS and Android provides seamless access to the dashcam to instantly share all recorded videos with all your acquaintances. Through the Wifi, the dashcam's settings can also be changed and saved recorded footage can be viewed. Another great advantage of the Wifi functionality in this dashcam is the automatic firmware update that can be performed.
The ADAS system on this Lukas V790 2CH GPS is a built-in ‘Advanced Driver Assistant System’. This system supports the driver while driving in three ways:
FCWS: ‘Forward Collision Warning System’. This system issues a warning when approaching a vehicle in front at high speed. The system alerts, for example, when there is a traffic jam in front of the car. With a good GPS signal, the current speed is known and the camera can make a good estimate of the situation around the car.
LDWS: ‘Lane Departure Warning System’. When the car is in danger of changing lanes on the motorway, the camera can give a signal.
FVSA: ‘Forward Vehicle Start Alarm’. Do you also sometimes fail to pay attention when standing at traffic lights? This system gives a warning when a vehicle ahead starts to move away, for example at a traffic light or in a traffic jam.
*The ADAS system works better in some locations than others depending on the type of (highway) road. On narrow roads, for example, the LDWS system can issue an alert faster than on wide roads.
The V790 2CH GPS can record images in five different ways:
Regular recording: The regular recordings made by the camera are stored on the SD card in fragments of 3 or 5 minutes. When the SD card is full, the oldest images are automatically deleted and overwritten by new fragments.
Event recording: In case of an impact, the built-in G-sensor is activated and the camera will make an event recording (indicated by a warning signal). the 10 seconds before the impact and 20 seconds after the impact are stored securely on the MicroSD and cannot be deleted by the camera.
Park recording: In parking mode, a 30-second fragment is stored on the regular SD card when a movement is detected. Again, the 10 seconds before and 20 seconds after detection are stored.
Emergency recording: A manual 30-second Emergency recording can be started at the touch of a button and is stored on the MicroSD card.
This exceptional Lukas V790 GPS dashcam is equipped with the best SONY IMX 322 sensors. As a result, the images and colours of the videos are highly detailed. Even in the dark, the videos are above average due to the powerful sensor. The chipset used in the V790 is the Allwinner V3.
The Lukas supports MicroSD cards up to 128gb, which is good for around 30 hours of FullHD videos. The V790 2CH GPS comes with a 32gb Samsung Pro SD card as standard. These SD cards are specially designed for use in Lukas cameras. They can withstand many read and write cycles and can withstand large temperature changes. In addition, they are fast enough to handle the large amount of data from FullHD recordings.
The built-in GPS in the V790 2CH GPS stores all coordinates of the locations where is. The GPS also allows the current speed to be displayed on screen.
The handy format-free function in this Lukas V790 2CH GPS dashcam eliminates the need to format SD cards. The software handles the formatting itself so that the SD cards and the camera always function perfectly and work together. Besides automatic formatting, this system also guarantees better SD card retention, fewer reading and writing errors and no data loss.
The smart Lukas V790 2CH GPS dashcam has a built-in low voltage cut-off system. Because of this system, the dashcam detects when the car battery is about to run out and immediately switches off the camera in that case. The minimum voltage can be set to take into account the type of car and season. Because of this built-in system, the V790 2CH GPS can be used without worry to secure car when parked.
The Lukas V790 2CH GPS has a built-in security LED. This can warn potential vandals that the car is being filmed with a dashcam. The LED can be switched on and off in the menu if desired.
By using the best materials and the most careful assembly, the Lukas V790 2CH GPS can withstand extreme temperatures. The camera can operate at temperatures between -40˚C and 80˚C.
The V790 can be set in English, Korean or Japanese, the default language is English.
