Dashcam gaat niet meer aan

Dashcam does not turn on

, by Allcam dashcams, 1 min reading time

If your dashcam stops turning on, it could have several causes. Chances are that the problem lies with the power supply. Check that the power supply is properly connected and that any on/off switch is set to ‘On’. Preferably do this in the car and use the standard cigarette power supply or hardwire kit supplied. Some dashcams have two inputs for the power supply; directly on the dashcam or via the holder that sits on the windscreen. Try both connections to rule out that the problem lies with one of them. Sometimes the holder does not transmit power properly and needs to be replaced.

Is the dashcam still not working? Then try connecting the dashcam to the mains via a USB adapter, such as the one for your mobile phone. You can use the supplied or any USB cable for this. Connecting a dashcam via a USB port in your car or via the PC or laptop is often pointless. These USB ports usually only provide 0.5A; most dashcams require at least 1.5A. Via the PC, the dashcam is also seen as a media device (USB stick) which means you can no longer operate it.

Does the dashcam not work on the mains either? Then run through this step-by-step plan to recover the dashcam.
