Garmin hardwire kit for using your Garmin dashcam in parking mode. This handy hardwire kit is specially designed to connect the dashcam in a professional way and to be able to use it in parking mode. By concealing the cables, the dashcam ends up being less noticeable than when using the cigarette or optional OBD power supply.
3-wire
This Garmin power supply is a 3-wire ‘hardwire kit’ that connects to three points, preferably at the car's fuse box. The yellow (BATT) cable is connected to a fuse that supplies continuous current (also when the ignition is switched off), the red (ACC) to a switched fuse (which supplies current only when the ignition is switched on) and the black (GND) to ground. In this way, the power supply sends a signal to the dashcam when the ignition is turned on and off so that the dashcam will automatically switch to parking mode.
Battery protection
The power supply has a built-in protection device that cuts the power at a voltage of 11.6V/23.2V or lower. That way, the car's battery will not be overloaded and the dashcam will switch off when the voltage gets too low. It is suitable for 12V and 24V vehicles.
