This Energywell P6 battery pack is the ideal addition for your dashcam. Designed specifically for use with dashcams, this battery pack lets you use parking mode without straining the car battery. The battery pack charges while driving and controls power with the dashcam as soon as you turn off the car ignition. It then signals to the dashcam to turn on parking mode.
Note: To connect the dashcam to the Energywell you will need a permanent power cable for your dashcam, these are often optional to order with the camera. The Energywell P6 comes with a 3-wire output cable that you can connect this permanent power supply to, this cable does not have a USB or DC plug for in the dashcam.
Connection
The Energywell should be connected to a switched power point in the car so that it is only charged while driving. This can be done via the supplied car charger or hardwire cable. If the cigarette port in your car always provides power (even with the ignition turned off), you will have to connect the battery with the hardwire cable anyway. This cable can be connected at the fuse box in the car to a fuse that receives power only when the ignition is switched on. Consult the car's manual for this.
Up to 30 hours of power*
The Energywell P6 will charge while driving within 50 minutes (with hardwire power supply) and then provide up to 30 hours of power to the dashcam without putting further strain on the car battery. Once the Energywell is empty, the dashcam will switch off and not put any further strain on the car battery.
* The duration of use can vary greatly from one dashcam model to another. Dashcams with multiple active functions (Cloud, GPS etc.), higher resolution or multiple cameras consume more power and the operating time can then drop to around 10 hours.
